Overview

The Pinacoteca is the main museum of Milan, and one of the most important of the world for its prestigious collections of ancient and modern painting. Collections come from the concentration in this building of painting required to churches and convents during Napoleon government. As in Venice and Bologna, this art gallery had specific didactic purposes under Fine Arts Gallery direction.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: After succesfully completing a reservation, you will receive two e- mails: the copy of your order (immediately after submitting your order) and the confirmation mail (one working day after). PLEASE NOTICE: Confirmed time is not always the same time you requested; museum automatically confirms the closest available time on the same date if requested time is sold out.

Cancellation Policy:
Once confirmed, a visit cannot be modified or canceled


Opening hours: from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30 a.m to 7.15 p.m (last admission 6.30 p.m). The museum is closed on Monday, 1st January, 1st May and 25th December.

Audio guides

It is also possible to book the audio guide for the visit at the time of the order. It is an Audio system with earphones that explains, in the selected language, a series of masterpieces on display at the art gallery. It has a duration of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The works described in the audio guide are indicated in the museum by a symbol and a number. Available languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish.

  • Citizens of the European Union and of the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland) aged between 18 and 25 years
  • Tenured teachers of state schools of the European Union and the EEA

 

Free #1:

  • Visitors under 18
  • Secondary school students in possession of a student's ID
  • Teachers and students who are citizens of the European Union and connected to the faculties of: Academies of Fine arts, architecture (not design and short degrees), preservation of cultural heritage, education sciences, degree courses in literature and philosophy with archaeological or art historical specialization
  • Journalists of the European Union who produce a suitable document proving their professional activity 

     

 

Free #2:

> Tickets bookable only through the CALL CENTER

> A flat rate of 10.00 Euro will be charged for the reservation service

  • Groups of students from public and private schools of the European Union, accompanied by their teachers, with advance reservation. (Minimum 10-maximum 30 people).
  • School groups considered for the free ticket are the normal kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools operating during daytime.
  • Attention: Groups of university students, evening schools for adults, schools for foreigners, courses of Italian Centri Territoriali Permanenti, etc., are not considered a school.

> For school group bookings with booking amounts of less than 20.00 Euro, payment is allowed in cash, by presenting the transaction code at the museum ticket office, 15 minutes before the booked entry.
